About Us
Vigilance Department was created in Himachal Pradesh during the year 1965. As Union Territory, the jurisdiction of the Central Bureau of Investigation and the Central Vigilance Commission extended to Himachal Pradesh and the procedure laid down in the Vigilance Manual prepared by the Central Vigilance Commission was followed in dealing with disciplinary cases against Government servants. After the attainment of Statehood by Himachal Pradesh, functions of the Central Vigilance Commission are being performed by the Vigilance Department and the investigation work is being carried out by the Anti-Corruption Unit, Himachal Pradesh, under the control of Director of Vigilance. The State Vigilance & Anti Corruption Bureau, Himachal Pradesh has come into existence after the unification of erstwhile Enforcement and Vigilance Wings vide HP Govt. Notification No. Per (Vig) A (4)-2/99 dated 15.11.2006. However, the SV&ACB and its 3 Ranges have started their proper functioning from the financial year 2007-08 i.e. from 1.4.2007 when the budget provisions were made separately for the SV&ACB Hqrs. as well as its 3 Ranges- Southern Range Shimla, Central Range Mandi and Northern Range Dharamshala.
Aims and objectives of Web-Portal
The main objective of State Vigilance & Anti Corruption Bureau Web-Portal is to facilitate inter-action between the public and SV&ACB. It provides facilities like online complaints/information to the SV&ACB Police Stations. Besides, the Web-Portal provides useful information for public i.e. Phone Directory, RTI Act and the Crime data of the bureau, etc.
