Rig Veda describes corruption as “Hydra Headed evil having nine heads and that it enters human body ‘five senses’. This evil has spread so wide & deep in the world that it is recognized today as the biggest challenge the world faces. World Bank describes corruption as “ 1 trillion dolar industry. It is threatening the Democratic institutions and is proving to be a major hurdle for sustainable development. People in Himachal Pradesh are by and large quite law abiding. They have a lot of expectations from the government. With Industrialization, migratory labour and influx of tourists, unscrupulous government servants & unscrupulous business people try to exploit the situation to make personal gains in all its forms. 

                 State Vigilance and Anti Corruption Bureau has a motto of making governance vigilant and corruption free and sustaining the trust of the people in fighting corruption. Without the co-operation of the people, unscrupulous elements in the government system cannot be brought to books. I call upon all law abiding citizens and people of integrity in the governance to help State Vigilance and Anti –Corruption Bureau to fight corruption in all its forms and increase all out vigilance in the governance throughout the state in order to make Himachal Pradesh a model for development and ideal governance for the whole country--- ‘Dev Bhumi’ in real sense in times to come.
